IAM a Servant With a Purpose

Matthew 20:26-28 NLT But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.  For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Jesus tells us that if we want to be a leader, we must become the servant.  If we want to be first, we must become the slave.

Jesus was a son of the line of David.  He had royal lineage.
He performed enough miracles that he could have big-timed it wherever he went.
Out of all the people in the history of the world he would have been justified to say “Don’t you know who I am?”But he didn’t.  He gave his life has a ransom for the world. The greatest person that ever lived, the one true Son of God, was beaten, and punished and crucified , to serve the world.

It’s funny because , many prominent business and training books for professionals say the same thing.  If you want to be great, serve the many. And when you continue to read more books, it seems as if they should just say,
If you want to be a great leader, just be like Jesus.   Because that’s what they all say.

Jesus was sent by God the father for one mission.
And we are sent by God for that same mission.
We are called for one purpose.

And the easiest and most powerful way to win over this world is to serve unselfishly out of Love.

Because it’s totally opposite of what the inner person is screaming for.  And when we serve, with the heart and compassion of Jesus.  That breaks something inside of those we serve. That models the Love of God. It makes others scratch their head… “What is up with those Jesus people?”
What do they have inside of them, that allows them to serve with Joy and passion like that?
Why would this stranger decide to love me by serving me?

Then we can be ready to share God’s truth.

ACTS 20:24 NLT But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

In my 39 years of life, this is the first time that this verse popped out of the page to me, and it’s timely.

My life is worth nothing unless I am doing what my life calling is.
Telling others about the Good news! And the wonderful Grace of God.

That’s a mission statement!

Today: look in the mirror and declare this truth

Go To Hungry Ones By Keith Green

Go to the hungry ones and fill them with His bread,
They’ll leave their darkness as you shine the light He shed,
Point to His promises, believe in what He said,
And His joy will be manifest in you,
And the lost will be found as He works through you.

Out on the highways, there’s so many passing by,
Step out in boldness and watch the family multiply,
Pray up some miracles, lets open up the sky,
And His joy will be manifest to you,
And the lost will be found by the things you do.

Oh don’t you know that Jesus loves you,
So let’s go and spread His word,
Redeem the time while there’s still time,
Let’s share the call we heard, lets share the call we heard.

Is your house open to let strangers enter there,
Give to the least of them, show them someone cares,
And you may be entertaining Angels unaware,
And His joy may be manifest to you,
And the lost may be found as He works through you,
And His joy will be manifest in you,
And the lost, they’ll be found by the things you do.

IAM a Messenger of Reconciliation

2 CORINTHIANS 5:19-21 NLT For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Jesus sets us free. He clears our sins. Once you accept this truth into your life, your life changes. No one counts your sins against you. God sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus sacrifice made us right with God. That’s a wonderful message!

God immediately gives us a mission: to share this amazing message with as many people as possible. We have one goal and calling. Don’t waste any time with condemnation, judgment, style points or heavy theology. I wonder why so many so called Christian organizations spend time with the minor things. Why do they spend little time on the most important message of Love? Then I realize because the more they waste time, the more the enemy wins. Friends, don’t allow your life to get off track. As ambassadors of God, we have a single purpose: a ministry of reconciliation.

God makes his appeal to the world through us. You have a voice and a message! Jesus is asking us to tell the world “Come back to God!”

Jesus asking us to come back to God, starts with one initial premise. You started off in God. God started your life. God created you. A relationship with God is your rightful place.

God makes his appeal to the world through your amazing testimony. When you chose to return to God, a miracle happened in your life. When you accepted God and asked Him to come into your life, an amazing transformation took place. Someone must share the greatest love story with the world. Only you can tell your story. No one tells it better than you. Your unique life, gifts, vocation, skills, voice and beautiful personality deliver God’s message of love to the world.

God already called us to his service. We all have the same calling: Share God’s love and mercy with others until they come back to him. God asks us to take on his relentless character as we carry out his calling. That’s the 99%. The last 1% is your unique spiritual gifts, perspective, passion and burden for the lost. Take some time and write these down: Who? What? And Where? God answers the “HOW”: With his message of Love and reconciliation. God already answered the “WHEN” question: as soon as possible!

With that sheet of paper that has your Who, What and Where, also write these proclamations about your identity!

IAM Called by God
IAM a Messenger of Love
IAM an Ambassador of the Kingdom
IAM an appeal to all mankind
IAM a Witness with an amazing testimony
